Terms of Use
The agreement for using Wrote. Last updated 29 July 2026.
These terms govern your use of Wrote. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. Wrote is an early public product, offered as-is while we build it with our first users.
Your account
You must be at least 16 to use Wrote. Keep your login secure; you are responsible for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and a name/username that isn’t misleading or infringing.
Your work is yours
You keep all rights to the scripts, monologues, and other work you create or upload. By using Wrote, you grant us only the limited license needed to host, store, process, and display your content to you so the service can function — and, for anything you choose to publish to the community, to display it publicly as you direct. You can unpublish or delete your work at any time. We do not use your private content to train our own AI models, and we claim no ownership of your writing.
Material you bring
You may only upload, paste, or rehearse material you have the right to use. This matters most in two places:
- Practice is for private rehearsal of material you are permitted to access — audition sides, class scenes, your own work. It stays private to you.
- Community is for original work you created or otherwise have the right to publish. Do not publish copyrighted scripts you don’t own the rights to.
You are responsible for the rights to what you upload, and you agree not to use Wrote for anything unlawful, infringing, harassing, or abusive.
Public-domain and linked material
The catalogue in Browse consists of public-domain works and cleared material. For screenplays, Wrote links to sources hosted elsewhere and does not host those files itself. If you believe something infringes your rights, contact us and we’ll address it.
AI features
Smart parse, AI cleanup, study aids, and Studio partner voices are provided to assist you. Their output can be imperfect or inaccurate, and you should review it. These features are provided as-is.
Free and paid plans
Wrote is free to use for the core experience. A paid “Studio” plan adds AI partner voices and advanced tools. When paid plans become available, the price, billing terms, allowances, and cancellation policy will be shown at checkout and on the pricing page, and will form part of these terms. If you cancel a paid plan, you keep your account and your work and return to the free plan.
Acceptable use
Don’t attempt to break, overload, scrape, or misuse the service, circumvent access controls or usage limits, or use it to violate others’ rights. We may suspend or terminate accounts that do.
Disclaimers and liability
Wrote is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (or nothing, if you use the free plan). Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
Termination
You can stop using Wrote and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for violations of these terms or to protect the service and its users.
Changes
We may update these terms as the product grows. We’ll update the date above and note material changes in the product. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
