Privacy Policy

Wrote (“Wrote,” “we,” “us”) is a workspace for finding, studying, writing, and rehearsing dramatic material. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It is written to be read, not to hide.

What we collect

• Account details. When you sign in with Google or an email link, we receive your email address and create an account. Onboarding asks for a display name and a username.
• Profile you provide. Optional bio, website, and social links you choose to add.
• Content you create. Drafts and scripts you write, works you publish, lists you build, and material you import into Practice.
• Product usage. Anonymous, aggregated analytics about how the site is used (pages viewed and a small set of product events — for example, that a rehearsal was started). We do not log the text of your scripts, dialogue, character names, recordings, or Practice material in analytics.
• Technical data. Standard request information (approximate region, device type, browser) used to run and secure the service.

Your Practice material is private

Content you paste, upload, or rehearse in Practice is owner-only. It is never published, made searchable, or shared. Access is enforced at the database level (row-level security), and any generated rehearsal audio is stored in a private location served only through short-lived, signed links to you. Self-tape recordings stay on your own device — they are not uploaded to us unless a future feature you turn on explicitly saves them, which we would describe clearly at that time.

How we use your information

• To provide the service — store your work, run rehearsals, and power features you choose to use.
• To operate AI features. When you use Smart parse, AI cleanup, study aids, or Studio partner voices, the relevant text is sent to our AI processors to generate the result. We do not use your private content to train our own models.
• To keep the service secure and reliable.
• To communicate with you about your account or important updates.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party advertising inside Wrote.

Service providers we rely on

We use a small set of trusted processors to run Wrote. Your data is shared with them only as needed to provide the service:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and private file storage.
• Vercel — hosting and privacy-preserving web analytics.
• OpenAI and ElevenLabs — text-to-speech for Studio partner voices.
• Anthropic — AI parsing, cleanup, and study aids.
• Google — optional sign-in.
• Resend — sending occasional account and update emails.

Your choices and controls

• Edit or delete. You can edit your profile and content, and delete your account from Settings, which removes your account data.
• Export your writing. You can export your drafts as PDF, Final Draft (.fdx), Fountain, or plain text at any time.
• Publishing is a choice. Nothing you write is public unless you explicitly publish it to the community.

Security

We use row-level security so users can only access their own private data, private storage buckets with signed access, and column-level protection so your email is not readable by other users. No system is perfectly secure, but we design for least access by default.

Children

Wrote is intended for people aged 16 and older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

Wrote is an early public product and this policy may evolve as features change. We will update the date above and, for material changes, note them in the product.
